Our Manufacturing Process

Collection

Used PET bottles are gathered and prepared for recycling.

Sorting

Bottles are sorted carefully by color and material quality.

Cleaning

All plastic labels and bottle caps are completely removed.

Shredding

Clean bottles are shredded into small plastic flakes.

Washing

Flakes get thoroughly washed and purified from residue.

Melting

Clean flakes are melted down into high-grade rPET granulate.

Extrusion

Melted granulate is extruded into fine synthetic fibers.

Stretching

Filament fibers are stretched for maximum strength.

Spooling

High-strength yarn is wound onto spools for textile weaving.

Izabella Meyer

Founder & CEO

As a sports teacher and passionate water sports enthusiast, I was shocked to discover the environmental and health impact of conventional neoprene —from fossil-based production and toxic chemicals to microplastics and landfill waste.

In 2017, I set out to find a better solution. Starting as a complete autodidact, I spent years researching materials, working with scientists, engineers, and manufacturers around the world. Together with an international team, we finally developed Zeroprene: a neoprene-free material made from recycled PET that combines sustainability, comfort, and performance.

Today, our mission continues: making Zeroprene even more efficient, skin-friendly, and ready for a sustainable future.
